Paced by a pair of gold medal performances by senior Michelle Hachtel, the Harvard Lady Cardinals’ track team turned in their biggest scoring day of the season while taking part in the 2012 Russ Snyder Invitational, hosted by Lawrence-Nelson High School.
Hachtel would burn up the Sandy Creek High School track enroute to wins in both the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs in the meet, held Thursday, May 3.
Hachtel would capture gold first in the 3,200-meter run, winning the event in a time of 13 minutes, 10.50 seconds.
She also topped the field in the 1,600-meter run with a winning time of 6:03.00.
Distance teammate, Sedayn Bennett, placed third in the 3,200 event with a time of 14:51.40, while in the 1,600, Bennett finished the event in a time of 6:37.00 to place fourth.
Hachtel and Bennett also aided the Lady Cardinals 3,200-meter relay team to a third place finish on the day, teaming up with Alyssa Novack and Katie Bell to finish behind Lawrence-Nelson, the event winner, with a time of 10:38.40, and Blue Hill, who placed second in a time of 10:52.00.
The Harvard four finished in a time of 11:59.00.
