Monday nights home battle with visiting Ravenna appeared to be a tight battle for the first two and a half innings of play as Ravenna would take a 1-0 lead after the top of the first, and then battle back after a 3-1 Sutton lead to tie the game going into the bottom of the third inning.
Despite five Sutton errors in the game, the 11-7 hitting edge that Sutton held in the game would propel Sutton to an eventual 11-4 win to improve to 22-3 as they prepare for the first round of the Central Plains League Tournament, set to be played in Sutton this Saturday and Sunday.
Reed Stone, Brody Yost and Lance Spongberg would put Sutton up 3-1 following the early 1-0 lead Ravenna grabbed.
Ravenna behind a two run inning in the top half of the third would tie the game 3-3 before Sutton opened up the game with a four run half inning in the bottom of the third to take solid hold of the battle.
