Physical Improvements Bulk of SPS Summer Changes

Sutton High School will have new student lockers this year.Physical improvements dominated the summer at Sutton Public Schools, as the district completed a number of projects to its school building.

The high school student lockers that had lined the school hallways for years were removed in June and sold to the public to make room for new lockers. Currently, the gutted space where the lockers used to be is still vacant, as the lockers have not been delivered yet.

Superintendent Dana Wiseman reported that they have been told the lockers would be in at the end of the week, and that the school hopes to have them installed by the time the first school bell rings.

The lockers in the boys’ locker room will also be brand new this year.

Another noticeable project is the remodeling of the restrooms in the cafeteria area of the school. Both men’s and women’s bathrooms have been updated.

The school’s theater will also be more comfortable during the warm weather months this year, as well, as the district replaced the air conditioning unit in the theater this summer. The unit was failing and wasn’t working during the spring musical last year.
