A combination of strong first inning hitting, and a total of 12 walks from the Hebron pitching staff put the Davenport-Edgar Seniors on the winning track right out of the gate this season.
The D-E crew exploded for six runs in the first two innings to take an eventual 13-2 home win over the Hebron squad.
The hit parade for D-E was led by a double from the bat of Ryan Tegtmeier, as well as a single from Andrew Kuta, and a sacrifice fly by Kendrick Holeman to get the hosts off to a 4-0 first inning lead.
D-E would take a 6-0 lead after two innings of play as Preston Hild and Holeman both scored. Hild on a Holeman single, and Holeman on a passed ball by the Hebron pitching staff.
A Luke Christensen run in the third would lift D-E to a 7-2 lead. Hebron scored their two runs on a single to left-center field.
