With four girls in five events, the Sandy Creek Lady Cougars track team attempted to take on field of highly talented competitors in the Class C State Track and Field Championships this past Friday and Saturday in Omaha.

The Sandy Creek boys track team picked a perfect day to show up and claim team gold this year as the Cougars, powered by a big showing both on the track and in field events would outscore second place Doniphan-Trumbull by 15 points to win the C-9 District track team title, outscoring the Cardinals 118-103.
