Beginning with a big day in the field, during the 2012 Sandy Creek Invitational, the Lady Cougar track team edged out Hastings St. Cecilia for the meet title, Tuesday, April 3, scoring a 138-137 win over the Hawkettes.
With a total of 18 medals earned by the Sandy Creek “A-team” the field events would earn a total of 11 of the 18 medals, while on the track, the Cougars earned seven medals to guide the Cougars to a second place team finish, behind Hastings St. Cecilia, as the Bluehawks held a 167-115 scoring edge over the Cougars.
With a total of 29 medals earned at the annual Clay County Track and Field meet, hosted by the Lady Cougars on Tuesday, March 27, the Lady Cougars’ balance would propel them to a team win over Sutton, holding a 214-196 edge. Harvard would score 82 points to place third.
After a long delay to the start of the track season for the Sandy Creek Cougars with the full team in place, the Cougars geared up for the season with the 2012 Clay County Meet, Tuesday, March 27.
Sandy Creek Junior, Mikaela Shaw, gained three honors this past weekend with the announcement of the Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska Basketball teams, Sunday.
