Lady Cougars Split with Ashland-Greenwood, St. Paul

After battling for top honors in the Ord holiday tournament, the Sandy Creek Lady Cougars opened the 2013 portion of their season with a sizable road challenge Thursday, Jan. 3 as a trip to Ashland-Greenwood High School would cause fits for the Sandy Creek offense as the Lady Bluejays earned a 58-35 win over Sandy Creek to drop the Lady Cougars to 7-4.

Lady Cougars Run Past Broken Bow, Ord

Ord, who came into the tournament, winless, would gain some much needed momentum in the first round of action, beating Wood River in the opener 42-36 and own a 1-7 record as they set out to challenge the Lady Cougars in the title game of their own holiday tournament.

St. Cecilia Holds off Cougars

With the seven point win over the Indians Friday, Sandy Creek would take on the 2-6 Chants of Ord in the title game Saturday.
