The road in search of their second win of the 2012 volleyball season didn’t get any easier for the Harvard volleyball team last week as both Blue Hill and Lawrence-Nelson earned straight set victories over the Lady Cardinals Sept. 26.
Facing a must win situation going into Friday nights D1-5 District opener, the Harvard Cardinals came through in a huge way, taking down the Huskies of Heartland High School 34-6.
Harvard’s strength of schedule seemed to become much tougher in the past week, taking on a pair of state ranked opponents, as well as, ratings contenders.
In a game that the Harvard Cardinals had hoped would erase their memory of a 62-8 loss at Shelton the week prior, a trip to Loup City matched up a pair of 1-1 teams as the night began.
Coming off a pair of disappointing losses to two Twin Valley Conference foes, the Harvard Lady Cardinals hopes of their first win of the season rang loud and clear as they returned to the court Thursday, Sept. 13, taking on the Lady Mustangs of McCool Junction inside the Birdcage at Harvard High School.
