Tuesday, Sept. 17 took the Harvard volleyball team in hopes to get back on the winning track with matches slated against Lawrence-Nelson and Kenesaw.
Hopes of rebounding from a tough road loss to the Shelton Bulldogs and improve their season record to 2-1 went awry Friday night as the Harvard Cardinals, in their first home game of the 2013 season, were held scoreless by the Loup City Red Raiders, falling 27-0 to fall to 1-2 on the year.
Coming off of Thursday nights losses at the hands of Palmer and Doniphan-Trumbull, the Lady Cardinals made their way to southeast Nebraska for action in the Humbolt-Table Rock-Steinauer Invitational Saturday.
The bark in the Shelton Bulldogs proved to be a little to much to overcome Friday night for the Harvard Cardinals as the Class D-2 state ranked Bulldogs used a 24-0 second half run to down the Cardinals 40-2 in non-district play in Shelton.
In what is nearly a preview for the 2013 D1-6 Sub-District for the Harvard volleyball team, action at the season opening Shelton tournament Sept. 5 produced one win in three matches as the Lady Cardinals upended Franklin in straight sets with losses coming to both Shelton and Red Cloud.
