The challenges of the action during the annual Sandy Creek track and field meet Tuesday, April 8, proved to be a field of 11 teams that was loaded with talent across the board.
Sutton finished 10th overall, scoring 21.66 team points, while bringing home eight medals from the action.
The lone field event medals came from Addison George and Gait Robert. The two Fillies finished in a three-way tie for sixth place in the high jump, as George, Robert and Tri County’s Ashlynn Brown all cleared 4’ 6” to finish in a tie. Event winner, Caitlin Biltoft, a freshman from Sandy Creek claimed gold with a 4’ 10” jump.
On the track, two relay teams medaled for the Fillies, as the 400-meter relay team, made up of Lindsey Ladehoff, Kaci Yost, Jadlynn Kinney, and Katie Baldwin, placed fourth overall with a time of 54.13 seconds. West Holt of Atkinson won the relay title with a time of 50.52 seconds.
Chloe Bergen, Kinney, Isabella Trejo, and Madylinn Bautista teamed up for a fifth-place finish in the 1600-meter relay with a time of 4:28.98. West Holt also claimed gold in this event with a winning time of 4:04.97.
Individually, Kinney had the highest finish for the Fillies, placing third in the 400-meter dash. Kinney finished the one-lap sprint in 63.39 seconds. Event winner, Pavan Larson of West Holt, claimed top honors with her time of 62.15 seconds.
Bautista earned a pair of fourth-place medals in the two hurdle events, as in the 100-meter hurdles, Bautista ran to a time of 17.75 seconds, while in the 300-meter hurdles, Bautista finished with a time of 52.19 seconds.

Sandy Creek freshman Carrigan Rempe ran away with both hurdle titles, winning the 100 hurdles in 17 seconds flat, while in the 300 hurdles, Rempe finished with a time of 48.55 seconds.
Baldwin captured a sixthplace finish in the 200-meter dash with her time of 28.68 seconds.
West Holt’s Ainsley Galyen claimed gold with a winning time of 26.19 seconds.
