Two named champions at Class C State Journalism competition

As a team, Harvard earned 11 medals, including two firstplace spots during the Class C State Journalism competition Monday, April 28, in Norfolk.

Guadalupe Gabriel-Gomez and Haley Gimple were named champions in Newspaper Layout and Editorial Writing, respectively.

Gimple also had two runner-up spots, the first in Action Photo and also in Editorial Cartoon.

Coming home with thirdplace medals was Cohen Reutzel in Action Photo.

Gabriel-Gomez earned fourth place in Yearbook Sports Feature Writing; Reutzel placed fourth in Yearbook Feature Writing; and Gimple placed fourth in Newspaper Layout.

Reutzel also earned fifth place in Headline Writing.

Rounding out their 10 medals were Reutzel and Gimple with a seventh-place spot in Yearbook Theme Development.

Mead was named the Class C runner-up with 308 points, while Yutan took home the champion title with 606 points. Overall, Harvard placed sixth with 156 points.
