Sutton senior David Fonseca found himself in an unusual predicament during the Sutton Invitational at the Fox Hollow Country Club, Tuesday, May 6. Fonseca found that his ball had trickled into the #9 pond, so instead of taking a penalty, he removed his shoes and socks, stepped onto edge of the pond and hit the ball out of the water. Fonseca finished the day with an 18-hole 91, but two days later shaved eight strokes off of his score to shoot an 83 during the Southern Nebraska Conference meet in Henderson, to help the Mustangs win their second straight SNC title, as they gear up for the upcoming C-4 District meet Tuesday, May 20 in Grand Island at the Indianhead Golf Course.
