Join the Fun is this year’s EdgarFest theme June 27-28, starting off with a beer garden and karaoke at The Bar Next Door and free Night Splash at the pool from 8:30-10:30 p.m.
Saturday is full of events and activities, with The Bar Next Door serving Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas from 9-11 a.m.
JC bounce houses, face painting by the Sandy Creek Cheerleaders, snow cones by Megan’s Kids Corner, a Teddy Bear Mobile, chicken races, and food vendors will be in the City Hall Park and Community Building from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
From 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Church of the Plains will be hosting a bake sale, and then from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., the Lions Club will have a pancake feed at the Community Building.
A cornhole tournament will begin at 1 p.m., at The Bar Next Door. Register by noon; contact Michelle at 402-224-1368.
The Edgar Centennial Pool will be open from 1-5 p.m., with funnel cakes available at The Bar Next Door from 1-3 p.m. Free cotton candy will be available at Corner Market from noon-2 p.m., and there will be a free watermelon feed on Main Street from 1:30-2:30 p.m..
The Legion Auxiliary is hosting Bingo from 3-5 p.m., at the Legion, with a foam party at the park going from 2-3 p.m.
The famous firemen’s BBQ will take place from 5:30-7 p.m., at the Community Building, with the annual parade set for 8 p.m., down 5th Street. Lineup is at 7:30 p.m. The firemen’s gun raffle will follow the parade.
Playing from 8 p.m.-1 a.m., the Dirty Boots Band will be on Main Street. They play old, 80s, 90s, and new variety country music. There is a $10 cover charge, and no minors will be permitted.
At dark, there will be fireworks at the fire hall.
