Following a narrow loss to Ord July 26, Sutton redeemed themselves with a 14-1 slamming of the Dwight Legion Post #110 Seniors July 27.
Sutton left Dwight scoreless through the first two innings, earning three runs in the first and four in the second.
Dwight’s lone run came in the bottom of the third, only after Sutton secured the win by having six runners cross home plate.
With a 13-1 lead going into the fourth inning, Sutton earned one final run in the top of the fourth, ending the game 14-1.
Runs came via Caleb Reiners, Wyatt Pollet, Aidan Jones, Kaleb Ostrander, Weston Ohrt, DJ Hajny, and Payton Reed.
Sutton went to bat 22 times, earning 10 hits.
Pitching efforts went to Hajny, who pitched for a little over two innings, allowing two hits, no runs and striking out five. Jones pitched for two innings and allowed one hit, one run, and struck out three. Ostrander pitched for two-thirds of an inning and struck out one, allowing no hits or runs.
