The Shaw brothers are back at it again, after the two played for Sandy Creek one year during the elder Shaw’s final high school season in 2022.
The sons of Brian and Julie Shaw of rural Fairfield, the Shaw boys will help lead the Fort Hays State Tigers improve on their 8-3 record a year ago. Josh, a 6’2”, 300-pound senior, will help anchor the offensive line for the Tigers during his senior season in the program. He is a two-time All-MIAA all-conference player, earning third-team honors in 2023, and first-team honors a season ago.
In addition to his all-conference honors, Josh is a twotime CSC Academic All-District selection, in addition to being a second-team CSC Academic All-American last season.
The 2022 Nebraska Shrine Bowl selection, Josh has been named three times to the MIAA academic honor roll, he has earned the MIAA academic excellence award, and has twice earned an MIAA scholar-athlete award in 2023 and 2024.
Ethan joins the Tigers for his first season, after guiding Sandy Creek to the 2024 Class D-1 state championship, and was named the Class D-1 Player of the Year. Last season, Ethan totalled 3,724 yards of total offense, throwing for 2,026 yards and rushing for another 1,698 yards, while having a hand in 67 total touchdowns, 37 through the air and 30 on the ground.
The 2025 Nebraska Shrine Bowl selection also recorded 101 tackles his senior year.
The freshman, 6’2”, 210 defender, will play linebacker for the Tigers this season.
Fort Hays State will begin its 2025 season this Thursday night at home, taking on Angelo State of Texas, with kickoff slated for 7 p.m.
