The late morning rain Sunday, Aug. 24, did not stop the activities at the Clay Center Ball field. Clay Center Innovation Partners hosted a BBQ at the ballfield. There were inflatable bounce houses for the kids to play on while the parents had the opportunity to visit with each other.
Food was available for community members if they wished to buy. SKRATCH MADE KITCHEN food truck featured creole foods. It was an overwhelming success as the truck sold out. The Spoon House served a quick meal of walking tacos, burgers, hot dogs, mac and cheese, and lotus drinks.
The Clay Center Innovation Partners plan to gradually update the ballfield into a community activity area. The plan includes a food truck area with seating, soccer fields, walking area, dog park, frisbee golf, improving the ball fields, sand volleyball, and basketball court
