Harvard travels to Grand Island Lutheran for season-opening triangular

Harvard Volleyball kicked off the season at a triangular at Grand Island Lutheran, taking on Newman Grove/St. Edward and GI Lutheran.

In the second game of the night, Harvard took on the Newman Grove/St. Edward Panthers, falling in the first set, 25-19.

The second set showed the tenacity of Harvard as they overcame the Panthers for a set win, 25-22.

A third-set loss, 25-18, left Harvard with their first loss of the season.

The first set saw GI earn a 25-12 win, before gaining a 2516 win in the second set.

Harvard....................................................12 16 Grand Island Lutheran..............................25 25 The Cards were to play GI Lutheran and Silver Lake in triangular action Sept. 2 on the Lightning home court, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Harvard will then travel to Shelton for a quad game starting at 2 p.m., Sept. 4.
