Ochsner leads Sutton at Indianhead Golf Course
Paced by Mia Oschner’s 18-hole 96, the Sutton Fillies golf team kicked off the 2025 season with a fourth-place finish at the 14-team Doniphan-Trumbull Invitational Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the Indianhead Golf Course in Grand Island.
Oschner opened the tournament with a 50 on the front nine holes of play, while wrapping up her day with a 46 to end the tournament with her team-leading 96, while placing eighth overall in the final individual standings.
Mia Hiebner of Heartland & Hampton (H&H) earned top honors individually in the tournament with an 18-hole 79.
Sutton overall placed fourth in the final team standings, while Northwest High School of Grand Island won the team title, shooting a 372 as a team. Grand Island Central Catholic finished second overall with a 405, while Adams Central finished just ahead of the Fillies with a 412, as Sutton fired a 434.
Rounding out the Fillies’ varsity play was Shepleigh Ohrt with a 104, as Ohrt turned in scores of 57 on the front nine, and 47 on the back nine to place 14th overall. Following Ohrt was Addison George with a 15th place 105. George opened with a 51, while wrapping up her day with a 54.
Wrapping up the Fillies day was Isabella Trejo with a 115 (62-53), and Jentry Stenger with a 129 (64-65).
