It was a tough opening night for the Sutton volleyball team, as the Adams Central Patriots handed the Fillies a fourset loss at the Sutton Dome. After Sutton took the first set, 25-17, the Patriots responded by rolling through the next three, 25-19, 25-13, 25-12.
In the 0-1 start, Kamryn Steinhauer recorded three of the Fillies’ four aces, with Elsa Andersen adding the other.
Katie Baldwin and Steinhauer led in kills with eight and six, respectively, while Miranda Nuss contributed three, and Kaci Yost added two.
Andersen and Avery Smith combined to put up 19 assists to lead the offensive attack, with Andersen gaining 10, and Smith, nine.
Defensive leaders proved to be Kyla Griess with 18 digs, Steinhauer with 13, and Dyvet Fonseca with 10 digs.
