Sandy Creek’s volleyball team won one of two matches at the Heartland/Hampton (H&H) triangular Thursday, Sept. 4, with a loss in the first match to Wilber-Clatonia. Sandy Creek won the first set 25-14, but then fell in the final two sets 26-24 and 25-23.
The Cougars recorded a total of 30 kills in the match. Emma Fisher led with 13 kills, Paige Biltoft contributed six, Katelyn Pohlmeier and Anna Paus had three each, Carrigan Rempe and Caitlyn Biltoft each added two, and Claire Williamson, one.
More on the offensive attack, the Cougars added seven aces, with Morgan Petr and Emersyn Pohlmeier and Katelyn Pohlmeier each having two aces, and Rempe had one.
The Cougars had 60 digs and six blocks on defense in the match.
Paige Biltoft made two blocks, while Rempe, Fisher, Caitlyn Biltoft, and Katelyn Pohlmeier each made one.
Emersyn Pohlmeier recorded a team-high 17 digs for Sandy Creek, while Fisher added 15, Morgan Petr, seven, with Rempe and Lillian Everson gaining five each,.
