After defeating Sandy Creek in the triangular meet at Shickley High School, Tuesday, Sept. 2, the Sutton volleyball team set their focus on the BDS Eagles. That focus certainly was sharp as the Fillies downed the Eagles 25-19, 25-23, to improve to 4-3 with the straight set victory.
Elsa Andersen collected a team-high two aces and eight assists in the win, as the Fillies served at a 91.7 percent clip, converting on 44 of 48 total serves, with five total aces.
Kyla Griess, Dyvet Fonseca, and Avery Smith added one ace to the cause and win.
On the attack, Sutton missed 11 of 91 total attempts, while gaining 19 kills, led by Kamryn Steinhauer with six. Jadlynn Kinney, Katie Baldwin and Miranda Nuss all had three kills in the win, as Sutton hit at an .088 clip.
Andersen’s eight assists came while she set a perfect 33-33 in the match, while Smith added five assists, while converting on all 34 of her set attempts.
Three Fillies hit double figures on the dig charts, led by 17 from Dyvet Fonseca and Steinhauer, while Griess gained 14 and Kaci Yost, seven.
