City of Sutton adopts 1 & 6 year road plan

The City of Sutton, during the Sept. 8 council meeting, adopted the new one-and-six year road plan with the following project included: Nearly completed is the current downtown revitalization project along North Saunders Ave. in downtown Sutton. The project, coming in at a cost of $550,000, runs between Elm and Maple Streets, with concrete, sidewalks, lighting, and erosion control included in the project.

1-YEAR ROAD PLAN

Projects that are included in the 1-year plan for the new fiscal year include the following:

• The James Ave. bridge project over School Creek comes at an estimated cost of $1.5 million;

• Maple Street project between James and Butler Ave. will remove and replace concrete coming with an estimated price tag of $380,000;

• Cedar Street project between James and Clark Ave., will also remove and replace concrete at an estimated cost of $310,000;

• Butler Ave. project between Maple and Elm Streets, also has the removal and replacement of concrete at an estimated cost of $350,000;

• Maple Street project between Clark and James Ave to remove and replace concrete is estimated to cost $32,000;

• Cedar Street project between James and Butler Ave to also remove and replace concrete is estimated to cost $380,000; and

• Cedar Street project between Highway 6 and Dorr Ave to deal with aggregate surfacing, grading storm sewer, and erosion control comes with an estimated price tag of $230,000.

6-YEAR ROAD PLAN

A total of 23 projects that are included in the 6-year plan for the new fiscal year include the following:

• Bridge deck repair over School Creek bridge along Butler Ave. Estimated cost is $250,000;

• Concrete, grading and erosion control along Maple Street between Euclid and Roy Ave. Estimated cost is $100,000;

• Concrete, grading and erosion control along Glen Ave between Cedar and Ash streets. Estimated cost is $150,000;

• Concrete, grading and erosion control along Glen Ave between Maple and Cedar streets. Estimated cost is $100,000;

• Aggregate surfacing, grading and erosion control along Cedar Street between 1st Ave. West and Euclid Ave. Estimated cost is $80,000;

• Aggregate surfacing, grading storm sewer and erosion control along Beach Street between Highway 6 and Phillips Ave. Estimated cost is $140,000;

• Concrete and erosion control work along N. Railroad Street between Saunders Ave, and 1/2 block east of Saunders Ave. Estimated cost: $60,000;

• Concrete, grading and erosion control along Dorr Ave, between Maple and Cedar Streets. Estimated cost: $200,000;

• Remove and replace concrete paving, curb ramps, and other miscellaneous items along Cedar Street between Clark and Glen Ave. Estimated cost: $280,000;

• Remove and replace concrete paving, curb ramps, and other miscellaneous items along Cedar Street between Glen and Park Ave. Estimated cost: $350,000;

• Remove and replace concrete paving, curb ramps, and other miscellaneous items along Cedar Street between Park and Myra Ave. Estimated cost: $340,000;

• Remove and replace concrete paving, curb ramps, and other miscellaneous items along Cedar Street between Myra and Grand Ave.

Estimated cost: $305,000;

• Remove and replace concrete paving, curb ramps, and other miscellaneous items along Cedar Street between Grand and Roy Ave. Estimated cost: $330,000;

• Remove and replace concrete paving, curb ramps, and other miscellaneous items along Cedar Street between Roy and Euclid Ave. Estimated cost: $320,000;

• Remove and replace concrete paving, curb ramps, and other miscellaneous items along Maple Street between Grand and Myra Ave.

Estimated cost: $375,000;

• Remove and replace concrete paving, curb ramps, and other miscellaneous items along Maple Street 1/2 block East of Butler Ave to Saunders Ave. Estimated cost: $190,000;

• Concrete paving, curb ramps and other miscellaneous items along James Ave., between the railroad tracks and Maple Street. Estimated cost: $375,000;

• Remove and replace concrete paving, curb ramps and other miscellaneous items along James Ave., between the Hickory Street and the railroad tracks. Estimated cost: $370,000;

• Remove and replace concrete paving, curb ramps and other miscellaneous items along Hickory Street, between the Saunders and James Ave. Estimated cost: $550,000;

• Mill and Asphalt overlay along Hickory Street, between Way and Maltby Ave. Estimated cost: $210,000;

• Remove and replace concrete paving, curb ramps and other miscellaneous items in the intersection of Forest Street and Maltby Ave. Estimated cost: $160,000;

• Remove and replace concrete paving, curb ramps and other miscellaneous items in the intersection of Forest Street and Phillips Ave. Estimated cost: $70,000; and

• Remove and replace concrete paving, curb ramps and other miscellaneous items in the along Maple Street, between Glen and Clark Ave.
