Harvard volleyball downs McCool Junction, Palmer at home

In their second home-hosted triangular of the week, the Harvard Volleyball team added two more wins to their season Sept. 18.

In a rematch with McCool Junction, Harvard took the first-set win most easily, 25-14.

However, the second set looked a little rocky for the Cardinals, as the Mustangs kept pace for a majority of the game, ending in a nail-biter.

Harvard came out on top, securing a 25-19 win, their second over the Mustangs on the season.

The Cardinals had 13 kills against McCool Junction, led by Tabi Forney with eight. Forney also had a team-high three aces, while Abi Conover had two, and Lilly Smith and Brooklyne Juranek had one each.

In digs, Harvard had 25, with Forney earning nine, and Haley Gimpel and Juranek had five each.

Serving efforts paid off as the Cardinals had a 91.8 percent serving rate, with only four errors on 49 serves.

Harvard earned 16 kills, led by Forney with seven and Hannah Harms and Juranek with three.

Serving attempts fell a bit more on the error side, as Harvard had seven on 49 serves (85.7%).

Led by Harms and Forney with three each, the Cardinals had eight aces. As a team, Harvard earned eight blocks, led by Juranek and Forney with four each.
