National 4-H Week – Oct 5-11

Donate to Casey’s to support local 4-H programs

For over 120 years, 4-H has empowered millions of youth to build their futures and to pave a path forward.

Youth, families, leaders, and 4-H Alumni all over the country will be celebrating these achievements during National 4-H week, Oct 5-11.

Clay County 4-H will be joining in honoring their local program. In 2025, Clay County had 216 enrolled in 4-H and 37 local volunteers. One in every two youth in the county participate in 4-H opportunities including traditional 4-H, school enrichment, Connect the Dots, INVENTURE Day, camps, and various workshops every year.

“4-H brought together my passion for animals, my competitive spirit, and love for spending time with family and friends,” Hadley Schoneberg, member of the Leadership in Action 4-H Club. “If I hadn’t joined 4-H, my parents would have never let me turn our place into a ‘funny farm’ with hogs, chickens, goats, turkeys, horses, and cattle. But because of 4-H, I gained the chance to care for all these animals.”

4-H’ers along with their families and local supporters are encouraged to wear their favorite 4-H shirt Monday, Oct. 6. Show your green pride by painting our schools and communities green!

4-H AND CASEY’S PARTNER TO SUPPORT LOCAL PROGRAMS From Oct. 1- Nov. 4, Casey’s and 4-H are joining forces to strengthen the communities they call home. With more than 2,900 stores across the Midwest and South, and more than 2.5 million active 4-H’ers in those areas, this partnership is helping more young people become Beyond Ready to lead and give back—locally and beyond.

You can help support Clay County 4-H at Casey’s in Sutton in two easy ways:

• Oct. 1-10: round up your in-store purchase to donate to 4-H.

• Oct. 1-Nov. 4: add a donation on any order made online or on the Casey’s app.

Every donation benefits local 4-H programs. For more information about Clay County 4-H, contact the UNL Extension Office in Clay County at 402762-3644.
