Sutton Library installs 2 Free Little Libraries

Sutton Library installs 2 Free Little Libraries

An idea of purchasing and a installing a free little library came up about a year ago in the Sutton Library’s Board meeting.

Last week, the two bright red libraries were installed— one on North Saunders Ave near Paint and Paper, and the other at the city park along the east side of the pavilion.

Former Sutton City Administrator Jeff Hoffaker approved and bought the libraries, with current administrator Warren Myers getting the ball rolling to install them.

Since that meeting, members of the library have been saving books to put in the free little libraries.

On Thursday, Oct. 16, assistant librarian Deb Unterseher filled the libraries with a variety of books.

The Free Little Library system follows a borrow and donation trend. People can take a book, read it, and bring it back, or if they like the book they borrowed, they can replace it with another book.

One of the little libraries is located on North Saunders Ave between Paint & Paper and Katie VanderLey’s real estate office. ASHLEY D SWANSON | CLAY COUNTY NEWS
