If able, donate to your local food pantries
On Oct. 1, the federal government entered a shutdown; as of Oct. 29, SNAP benefits were paused in Nebraska due to this ongoing shutdown.
This means SNAP benefits will not be issued during the month of November until the shutdown is brought to an end.
For those currently on SNAP, they may continue to use any remaining benefits on their EBT card for nine months from the date of last use.
They must also continue to recertify their SNAP and report any changes to their personal information.
People can still apply for SNAP and their application will be processed.
