Sutton’s One Act took the familiar Red Riding Hood story and added some twists in “Totally Red!”
Their story begins with the traditional tale, with Red’s mom asking her to take a basket of goodies to her grandmother.
Along the way, Red (Inga Andersen) comes across the Big Bad Wolf’s path, who pretends to be nice all to get Red’s trust.
After telling Wolf (Creighton Jones) she’s headed to her grandmother’s house on the edge of the woods, he runs ahead to await her arrival.
Reaching grandma’s house, the Wolf gets rid of Granny (Dyvet Fonseca) by pushing her into a closet and dressing in her clothes.
When Red arrives, the Wolf makes his move, but is thwarted when a woodsman comes along and saves Red.
After this story, the version turns to being an ‘80s hip hop called “REDz in the Hood.”

Dressed as Granny, Wolf (Creighton Jones) tries to pass the time while waiting for Red Riding Hood during Suton’s elementary
performance Nov. 13.
From there, various narrators go through the motions of explaining the next version, which include a melodrama called “The Perils of Being Miss Red;” Elizabethan era called “Much Ado About Red;” and an avant-garde called “Call the Moment RED.”
Additional cast and crew include: Marshall Reed, Narrator 1; Adilynn Gimple, Narrator 2; Jadlynn Kinney, Mother; Keith Kliewer, Narrator 1; Katie Baldwin, Red; Shepleigh Ohrt, Wolf; Lincoln Friesen, Narrator 1; Neomi Craig, Narrator 2; Breckyn Peterson, Red; Eli Ladehoff, Wolf; Bryah Hajny, Red; Ethan Kliewer, Woody; Shae Eggers, Narrator 1; Trinidi Oswald, Narrator 2; Kylar Ely, Bongo Player; Kamryn Steinhauer, Red; Marah Kinney, Miranda Nuss, Kierra Ebert, Grethe Andersen, and Kali White, Trees; Brody Borgman and Shawn Westmoreland on tech; and Brayden Griess, Emory Molina Gomez, Christopher Hetrick, Maria Magalhaes Curci, Gentry Stenger, and Amelia Walters on crew.
