Cougars throttle Eagles, Scouts to open 25-26 season

The Sandy Creek Cougars got back-to-back wins over Wood River and David City, with the first over Wood River 69-42 Thursday, Dec. 4, followed by a dominating 56-11 victory over the Scouts Saturday, Dec. 6.

Sandy Creek started out hot on both sides, scoring doubledigit points and then holding Wood River to four points in the first quarter, and Cougars scoring would keep rolling into the next three quarters.

The Cougars had three players in double figures in the game, Kamerin Sealey had 13 points, while Wes Biltoft and Christian Shaw both added 12, Sam Watts cashed in for nine and, Evan Swartzendruber had seven points.

Sandy Creek had a total of 42 rebounds, 17 total assists, nine steals, and three blocks.

Leading on the glass was Biltoft with 10, while Logan Tomky and Swartzendruber both gained seven.

Sealey dished out a teamhigh six assists, with Alex Watts gaining three.
