Thanks, recognition given at 4-H Awards Program
Two people were recognized and thanked for their volunteer efforts with 4-H over the years, during the annual awards program Sunday, Dec. 7. ABOVE: Laurie Jarzynka was named this year’s Outstanding 4-H Leader, receiving the Herman J. and Alene M. Valentine Memorial Award. She has volunteered with Clay County 4-H for 25 years. BELOW: Bruce McDowell received the 2025 Individual Outstanding 4-H Supporter Award for his dedication to Clay County and those in 4-H. Along with supporting 4-H, he has served as an auctioneer for the Clay County Fair Livestock Auction for more than 25 years. He also volunteers at the Ranch Rodeo at the fair, and helps acquire donations from area businesses to help with the payout for participants of the event.
