Nolde ground bids to open through Feb. 4
Members of the Sutton City Council took foreclosure action against four properties in the city limits during their monthly meeting, Monday, Jan. 12.
Of the properties on the vacant property registry (VPR), three are residential properties, and one is a commercial property.
The three residential properties are located at 105 N. Way Ave., 305 S. Saunders Ave, and 203 S. Maltby.
All three properties have been on the vacant property listing since April of 2023, and all have accrued $6,250 in liens. The 105 N. Way property is owned by Juan M. Lopez Hernandez and Carol Garcia, the property at 305 S. Saunders Ave., is owned by Felipe Jr. and Marlen Flores, while the property located at 203 S.
Maltby Ave., is owned by San Juanita and Arturo Bautista.
The commercial property, owned by Kenneth Moore and located at 111 S. Butler Ave, directly west of Sutton’s City Hall, which had been registered on the VPR list in May of 2022 had reached $15,000 in liens, but in an agreement between Moore and city leaders, the lien fee was dropped to $7,500, as Moore agreed that he would make two installment payments of $3,750, one payment due as soon as this week, and the second payment on or before July 1, 2026.
If Moore falters on the agreement, the lien on the property will go back to $15,000.
