
Sutton’s fifth and sixth grade-girls and boys team competed in the North Pioneer Youth Basketball League, hosted by Sandy Creek. The teams played against other area teams for the past three weeks and then competed in tournament-style play for the fourth week. Sutton’s fifth and sixth-grade girls played Fillmore Central in the championship and earned a 25-18 victory, while the fifth and sixth-grade boys played Sandy Creek in the championship game and came out with a 31-25 win. Both the girls and boys teams will now travel to Davenport to play in the champion of champions game. Both teams will play the champions of the South Pioneer League division which was hosted at Thayer Central.
