Sutton Chamber votes in new board, recognizes community members

During the Sutton Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting Friday, Jan. 23, new board members were voted in and the Volunteer of the Year and Friend of the Community Awards were presented.

This year’s Volunteer of the Year Award went to Brooke Marshall and Amy Baumert, and the Friend of the Community Award was presented to Dee Boals.

Monica Smith was elected to serve a two-year term as chamber president. Past president Julie Haag was thanked for her three years of service and dedication, and was voted into the treasurer position. Sophie Carlson was voted in as secretary.

The 2026 Chamber Board includes several new members: Jason Cline, Sutton Public Schools superintendent; Tiffany Hofmann, Schmeits Agency sales associate; Katie Griess, CPI advertising and media specialist; Michele Gibson, Kids R Us owner CEO/director; and Tommy Catania, Cornerstone Bank loan officer.

Responsibilities of board members include being an active member in good standing; committed to the chamber’s mission; must be willing to attend regular board meetings; sit on at least one of the six chamber event committees; and serve a two-year term.

Additionally, the 2026 membership fee levels are as follows:

• Personal household, $100

• Bronze, $250

• Silver, $500

• Gold, $750

• Platinum, $1,000 The deadline to be included on the list for Easter and Dugout Days is April 1. The dates for this year’s Dugout Days will be announced at a later date.

Along with the previously-mentioned events, other Chamber events this year include the garage sales, Career Day, Trunk or Treat, and Parade of Lights.
