Katie Dewees, of Edgar, brings a flame and a flare to her business, KD Candles and More.
Each candle is handpoured, measured, and melted to the correct flashpoint. There is a fragrance for everyone with having about 20 different scents to choose from.
Dewees has two candle sizes available to buy, a 7 oz and a 10 oz. The candles are made from 100 percent soy wax. Soy wax burns clean, no huge flame, or puffs of smoke as the wick burns down.
One unique feature offered to customers is the option to bring in their favorite fireproof container and have a candle made especially for their home. Or looking for a fun gathering idea, host a candle making party with friends or family. KD Candles has also worked with volleyball teams and 4H groups for special events.
Katie does all the candle making and gathers unique and enjoyable items for her customers. The items include wax melts, linen spray, adorable kitchen towels, earrings, and much more!
When asked what inspired Katie to make candles, she said, “I have always been OBSESSED with candles. Something about a lit candle brings warm, relaxing vibes to the room/ home.”
The most popular scents are Strudel and Spice and Pumpkin Buttercream.
Katie’s personal favorite is “Vintage Memories-cinnamon, vanilla, and a hint of leather. It is the perfect combination that everyone will love. It is not overpowering or a girly smell. It is for the whole family.”
