The Clay Center Legion hosted its third annual Family Chili Cook-off Jan. 28.
This year, Bear Everson of Clay Center, won by a landslide with his outstanding chili.
Everson’s dad, Tony, and himself exclusively formulated the family chili recipe, which has been changed a bit throughout the years to help enhance all of the ingredients.
Everson will compete at the District Chili Cook-off; the date is to be announced.
Everson wanted to show his respect to his family by honoring his grandpa Leonard Everson and great-uncle John Everson. Their pictures are included among the wall of veterans at the Clay Center Legion.
