The road to Omaha and the 2026 Nebraska Boys State Wrestling Championships in Class D runs through four high school gyms in the class this Friday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 14.
MUSTANGS HEAD TO OAKLAND-CRAIG
For Sutton, the Mustangs will head to Oakland-Craig High School for action in the 23-team D-1 District meet, slated to begin at 3 p.m. this Friday, and at 10 a.m. this Saturday.
Teams entered in the meet with Sutton include: Amherst, Aquinas Catholic, Bancroft- Rosalie, Burwell, Clarkson/ Leigh, Howells-Dodge, Humphrey-Lindsay, Lutheran High Northeast, Lyons-Decatur Northeast, Niobrara/ Verdigre, North Central, Oakland- Craig, Overton, Pleasanton, Randolph, Riverside, Scribner-Snyder, Tri County Northeast, Weeping Water, Wilcox-Hildreth, Winside, and Wisner-Pilger.
COUGARS TRAVEL TO ELM CREEK
For the Sandy Creek boys, the Cougars will head west for action at Elm Creek High School for the D-2 District meet, with action on Friday beginning at 2 p.m., while on Saturday, wrestling will start at 9 a.m.
Teams entered into the meet with the Cougars include: Ainsworth, Alma, Anselmo-Merna, Ansley-Litchfield, Arcadia/Loup City, Axtell, Bertrand, East Butler, Elm Creek, Guardian Angels Central Catholic, Hartington- Newcastle, Hastings St. Cecilia, Kenesaw, Lawrence- Nelson, Meridian, Palmer, Plainview, Ravenna, Southern, Southern Valley, Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, and Twin Loup.
G/H WRESTLES AT SHELBY-RISING CITY For Giltner/Harvard boys, they will head to Shelby-Rising City High School in Shelby for action in the D-3 District meet, slated to begin at 2 p.m., Friday, and at 9 a.m., Saturday.
Teams entered with the G/H boys include: Archangels Catholic, Central Valley, Creighton, Dorchester, EMF, Elgin Public/Pope John, Franklin, Fullerton, High Plains Community, Homer, Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer, Loomis, Newman Grove/St. Edward, Nebraska Christian, Neligh- Oakdale, Osmond-Wausa, Pawnee City, Shelby-Rising City, Shelton, St. Mary’s of O’Neill, Stanton, and Twin River.
