The Fairfield Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department will once again be hosting their annual fundraising events this Saturday, Feb. 28.
A free will pancake feed will run from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a health fair also running from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Panels for the health fair are $30 each.
More food will take center stage beginning at 4 p.m. with a barbecue pork meal that will run through 7 p.m. Saturday night.
An online auction is currently underway at www. tricityauctioncenter.hibThe online auction will close at 6 p.m. this Friday, Feb. 27.
A kids raffle and a silent auction will also take place during the day.
A pair of Husker legends will join the Fairfield departments, signing autographs from 5-6 p.m., they include Damon Benning and Jay Moore, along with sports commentator Jessica Coody.
Additional Huskers include Tyson Terry, Grant Brix, Luke Lindemeyer, and Carter Nelson.
A gun raffle, featuring a Colt Commander 1911 9mm gun and a Ruger Gen II 6.5 Creedmore, will also be going on throughout the day.
An additional raffle includes a first-place $500 gift card, a second-place $250 gift card, and a third-place $100 gift card.
The live auction, featuring Clay County’s own Bruce McDowell will begin at 7 p.m., featuring Husker football and volleyball memorabilia, guns, farm items, and pedal tractors signed by Tom Osborne.
All proceeds from this fundraising day in Fairfield go toward equipment and training needs for the Fairfield departments.
