Clay County fire departments respond to Monday field fire at Meat Animal Research Center

Numerous Clay County fire departments responded to an aggressive field fire on property owned by the US Meat Animal Research Center in west-central Clay County Monday. Departments responding included Glenvil, Clay Center, Harvard, Sutton and Fairfield. Grass rigs, tractors and disks battled the fire for a few hours before bringing the fire event to a close.
