Smith leads Mustangs on home course with an even par-36

The Sutton golf team’s second action of the season took place Tuesday, March 31, as the Mustangs hosted H&H in a dual at the Fox Hollow Country Club.

Freshman Myles Smith led all golfers with a ninehole even par, 36, during the wind-driven dual.

The next closest to Smith was H&H golfer, Landen Hansen, as he fired a 39 overall.

Senior Carson Cline had the third overall best score with a 44, while Edquardo Valenzuela carded a 46, Tristan Griess a 49, and Harrison Schurman, a 51 to close out Sutton’s varsity scoring.

On the junior varsity level, Nathan Griess finished the day with a 50, followed by a 51 for Ethan Kliewer, a 52 for Brody Schelkopf, and a 55 for Brayden Griess.

Sutton outshot H&H on the varsity level 175-181, while on the junior varsity level, Sutton totaled 208 strokes, while the two H&H teams finished with scores of 215 and 227.
