Junior Keaton Corman had a lights-out kind of day during the Sandy Creek Invitational, held Tuesday, April 21, at the Crooked Creek Country Club in Clay Center.

Corman fired a 2-under par 70 to place third overall and helped guide Sandy Creek to a runner-up team finish, as the Superior Wildcats claimed a 23-stroke win over the Cougars, 303326.

Corman’s day began with a solid 34 on the front nine holes of play, and ended play with a 36 on the back nine to finish the day with a 70, trailing only two players in the final individual standings.

Sutton freshman, Myles Smith, carded a five-under par 67 to win individual gold, while Superior’s Soren Frahm finished second with a three-under 69, just one stroke ahead of Corman. Rounding out the field for Sandy Creek was Gavin Fisher with an 18-hole 81. Fisher shot a 40 on the front and a 41 on the back. Evan Swartzendruber finished play with scores of 41 during both rounds to card an 82, while Kamerin Sealey finished play with a 93, shooting 46 on the front and 47 on the back. John Skalka shot scores of 46 and 53 to finish the tournament with a 99.
