Sophomore Max Huxoll represented the Sutton Mustangs track and field team during the Class C state track and field meet, held at Burke High School in Omaha May 22-23.

Huxoll, who qualified for both the triple jump and long jump, opened his state meet action Friday, May 22, competing in the triple jump, where the sophomore finished with a 17th-place best jump of 40’ 6.75.” Event winner, Atreyu May of Kearney Catholic, claimed gold with a 46’ 1.5” leap.

Huxoll rebounded nicely during the long jump competition Saturday, May 23, finishing with a sixth-place medal, after hitting the 21’ 2.75” mark, falling a quarter of an inch out of fifth place, as Yutan’s Ryan Maguire hit the 21’ 3” mark for fifth.

Winning the event was Alma’s Zavier Mitchell with a 22’ 10.5” jump.
