Sutton freshman is 1 of 16 Super Staters

Sutton golf standout Myles Smith, a freshman at Sutton High School capped his first year of competitive high school golf for the Mustangs by claiming the Class C state runner-up spot during the 2026 Class C State Championship tournament, held at the Indianhead Golf Course in Grand Island May 27-28.

For his efforts this season and the strong finish in the state championship tournament, Smith has added a big honor to his credit, as the Nebraska Coaches Association, selectedhim as one of 16 “Super State” picks by the NCA last week.

Joining Smith on the high honors list is: Jack Alberts of Grand Island Central Catholic; Braeden Dyer and Brenson Underwood of Adams Central; Nash Malone of Kearney Catholic; Lukas Armstrong of Red Cloud; Boston Bojanski of Bergan Catholic; Kreyton Eikmeier of Elkhorn South; Zack Erstad and Carter Honnens of Lincoln East; Austin Jochum of Bennington; Harper Kalin and Thomas Kelley of Creighton Prep; Benjamin Mooss of Lincoln Christian; Brooke Theile of Bishop Neumann; and Tye Treadwell of Omaha Westside.
