With the start of the 2026 high school sports season, also comes the start of the new youth football season for both Sutton and Sandy Creek, as the 2026 Farmers Valley football league season is slated to get its start on Sunday, Sept. 13.
Sandy Creek begins the season with a bye week in the south division of the eight-man league, while Sutton hits the road for week one, taking on Bruning-Davenport/Shickley (BDS) For the second week, slated for Sept. 20, both teams are at home, with Sutton hosting Thayer County, and Sandy Creek taking on BDS.
Week three pairs the two Clay County teams against each other, as Sutton hosts the Junior Cougars, Sept. 27.
Sutton then draws a bye during week four on Oct. 4, while Sandy Creek hosts Nuckolls County.
During the final regular season weekend, slated for Oct. 11, Sutton travels to Nuckolls County, while Sandy Creek will travel to Thayer County.
Playoff week then hits centerstage on Oct. 18 for the league, with the Farmers Valley League championship game set for Oct. 25 at Twin River High School in Genoa.
