Sophomore Westen Niemoth paced the Harvard boys cross country team in action at the Milford Invitational, held Thursday, Sept 10 at the Thornridge Golf Course near Milford.
Niemoth finished the 5,000-meter course in a time of 21 minutes, 38.2 seconds to place 41st overall.
Harvard, as a team, finished seventh, scoring 128 team points. Milford edged out Minden for the team title, as the Eagles outscored the Whippets 30-39 in the final standings.
Following Niemoth for the Cardinals was freshman Ryker Kobza, finishing the course in 21:49.8 to place 43rd overall, while freshman Ayden Derr placed 50th with a time of 22:07.4.
Junior Brexten Kobza followed Derr in 51st place with a time of 22:08.2, while freshman River Adrian placed 55th with a time of 22:15.8.
Minden’s Gage Thull edged out Centennial’s Carter Fritz for the individual title in Milford, as Thull finished with a time of 17:19.2, while Fritz came across the finish line with a time of 17:28.0.
On the girls side of the meet, sophomore Avery Verhage finished 35th overall with a time of 26:21.9.
