SC scores early and often as they improve to 4-1 with dominate win
Powered by another balanced offensive attack, the Sandy Creek Cougars dominated their way to a 60-0 road win over the Arcadia/Loup City Rebels this past Friday, Sept. 25.
The win was powered by 177 rushing yards and 263 passing yards as the Cougars amassed 440 yards of total offense in the win.
Sandy Creek rolled to a 34-0 lead after the first quarter, taking a 48-0 lead into the halftime break, before scoring six points in each of the third and fourth quarters to help Sandy Creek run their record to 4-1 on the year.
Kamerin Sealey passed for 223 yards, completing 10 of 13 passes, and threw for four touchdowns. He also added 46 rushing yards on just six carries to total 269 yards of total offense.
Brockett Reed was 1-1 passing, covering 40 yards.
The receiving stats were led by Alex Watts, as he grabbed two passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns.
Wyatt Livgren hauled in two passes for 52 yards and a score, while Wyatt Hemberger made two catches for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Rounding out the receiving stats was Owen Spray who had one catch for 40 yards, Logan Tomky made three grabs for 27 yards, while Wes Biltoft made one catch for 15 yards.
Reed set the tone in the running game, as he led the team with 64 yards on five carries. Livgren carried the ball five times to cover 36 yards, while Ian Zikmund carried twice for 31 yards.
Defensive leaders proved to be Kipton Williamson, as he led the team with nine tackles, that included six solo tackles. Evan Swartzendruber made seven tackles in the win.
Owen Spray made six tackles, while Hemberger, Jackson Gerdes, and Christian Shaw all made five tackles in limited playing time.
In all, Sandy Creek had 72 tackles, 28 solo tackles and 44 assists.
Owen Spray and Gerdes both had a quarterback sack. Reed recovered the lone fumble by Arcadia/Loup City, while Tomky and Hemberger both had an interception.

With the dominant win over Arcadia/Loup City, Sandy Creek returns home this Friday, Oct. 2 to host the Amherst Broncos, who come into the game with an identical 4-1 record as the Cougars.
