After taking its lumps in their season opening matchup with the Knights of Norfolk Catholic, the Sandy Creek boys basketball team would right the ship in round two of the Grand Island Central Catholic Early Bird Tournament, thrashing the Parkview Christian Patriots at home, 78- 59. Sandy Creek’s winning ways would be short lived, however. The Cougars’ final matchup of the tournament would see the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors, behind big runs in the second and fourth quarters, stop the Cougars, 62- 50, putting Sandy Creek at 1-2 heading into week two of the new season.
