The traditional opening game of each season for Sutton with Superior proved to be a tough pill to swallow for the Fillies. A last second bucket by Superior would open the year on a sour note for the Fillies, falling 39-37 on the road to their Southern Nebraska Conference challenger. Thursday’s loss, however, would quickly change for the Fillies Friday night. A visit from the Lady Bulldogs of Friend would see the Fillies, after struggling in the first half, take full control in the second half to register a 22 point win and start the year at 1-1 after the weekend split.
