Cougars at 2-4 After Second Week

The Sandy Creek boys, with their 61-54 win over Centennial Dec. 11, combined with losses to Adams Central Dec. 9 and Friend Saturday night, are 2-4 on the season. A heavy dose of David Bohlen and Evan Lindblad, who accounted for 27 of the Patriots’ 73 points, would see Adams Central roll to a 73-46 win over the Cougars, Dec. 9. The Cougars fell to 1-3 with the loss. Bohlen would hit for 17 points and Lindblad, 11, in the win over the Cougars. Sandy Creek, offensively, was led by John Sock’s 11 points in the loss. Trace Gordanier hit for nine more and Gabe Munoz added seven. The Patriots would open with an 18-8  first quarter run, then add a 23-10 second quarter advantage to take a 41-18 halftime lead over the Cougars. Second half action would see the Patriots’ scoring pace slow, but still hold the upper hand. Adams Central outscored Sandy Creek 32-28 in the second half.
