Sandy Creek ended its first semester with a special event to celebrate K-eighth grades’ reading success at Sandy Creek and Lawrence-Nelson schools. Sandy Creek’s K-fourth graders read more than 31 million words in more than 11,000 books. The kindergarten class learned its alphabet while learningto read throughout the semester. The first grade class completed the Nonfiction November Challenge first. The second grade class met the District Proficiency and Point Goals for the second quarter. This is the second time this class has accomplished reaching the point goal.
