Albert Ackerman, age 91, of Aurora, formerly of Stockham, passed away Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, at the Hamilton Manor. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Feb. 12, at
Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Rev. Bob Gannon will officiate. Interment will be in the Stockham Cemetery at 2 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the
church. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com. Albert Julius Ackerman,
the son of Martin and Rosina (Schutz) Ackerman, was born at Linton, ND, on July 11, 1923, and passed away in Aurora, NE on Feb. 8, 2015, at the age of 91. Albert spent his childhood
in North and South Dakota until his parents relocated to the Grafton area in Nebraska. He worked various jobs and did custom farm work until he married Darlene Elizabeth Hefty on Dec. 2,
1958, at Aurora, NE. They farmed her parents’ farm near Stockham until they retired and moved to Aurora in 2011. Darlene passed away on March 17, 2014. Albert enjoyed life and just
being around people. He was a collector and was often present at auctions, buying, selling and socializing. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, a brother, Oscar Ackerman; and two  sisters,  Tillie Ochsner and Ruth Skinner. Those left to cherish his memory are numerous nieces and nephews.
