Sutton resident Sharon "Shari" S. Fitzke, 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at her home in Sutton, NE. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at
the Federated Church in Sutton, NE, with Pastor Harry Cross officiating. Interment will follow at the Sutton Cemetery in Sutton, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, from 3–8 p.m., with the family present from 5–8 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton, NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or Sutton Public  School Scholarship Fund. Condolences may be left at www.suttonmemorial.com Shari was born March 13, 1944, to Solomon "Sam" and Esther Ann (Gehrke) Scheierman in Sutton, NE. She attended Sutton Public School and graduated with the class of 1962. She went on to Hoffmann Aircraft Institute and graduated as a Specialized Airline Personnel. Shari married Ronald "Ron" D. Fitzke on January 26, 1973, dedicating her life as a wife, mother and homemaker. Shari was a lover of music. She played the piano, organ and was a soloist at many venues throughout the region. Shari played the saxophone throughout high school and taught herself to play the organ, accordion, concertina, omnichord and even tried her musical talents at playing the guitar, violin and dulcimer. She also enjoyed sewing and expressing her creative side through crafts. Shari felt very strongly about giving the gift of life, as she was a dedicated American Red Cross volunteer blood donor for many years. She was a former board member and current member of the Clay County Historical Society, as well as a supporter and member of NET (Nebraska Educat ional Telecommunications). In previous years, she enjoyed her time working with youth as a 4-H leader and teaching Sunday school. Shari was a long-time member of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) and had served as a president of the Women of the ELCA. Recently, she was an active member of the Federated Church in Sutton. Everybody that knew Shari also knew that
she dearly loved her four-legged "children". She is survived by her husband of over 42 years, Ron, of Sutton, NE; daughter, Jacki, and husband, Rick Kment, of Lincoln, NE; stepdaughter, 
Leslie, and husband, Manuel Zalasar of Houston, TX; stepson, Marty, and wife, Michelle Fitzke of Grand Island, NE; grandsons, Cole and Quinn Kment, of Lincoln, NE; Andrew and Tyler Fitzke of Lincoln, NE; granddaughters, Angelina and Lydia Zalasar of Houston, TX; sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends on Facebook and in life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Esther Scheierman; sister, Ruth AnnScheierman; brother, Harlan "Bud" Scheierman and daughter, Meredith
